The Italian restaurant DA VITTORIO opened in Shanghai in 2019. Over the years, DA VITTORIO SHANGHAI has won not only Gambero Rosso Restaurant of the Year under Top Italian Restaurants Special Awards 2021 but also two Michelin Stars for two consecutive years.

Two years later, DA VITTORIO teamed up with UCCA Edge to launch its new restaurant, NEW WAVE.

From Art to Gourmet Delights
In Shanghai, exhibitions are an essential part of the local culture. From August 2020 to last year, Shanghai witnessed the organization of 4730 exhibitions.
Many art galleries regard dining as an extension of the artistic experience throughout the world.
Art and food bring great joy and therapy to individuals, from V&A, The Modern to the Tate Modern Restaurant.
UCCA Edge, one of the top local art museums, has created the first art museum restaurant, NEW WAVE, with a stunning design.
First Art Museum Restaurant by the Cerea Family
DA VITTORIO SHANGHAI has been ranked among the top Italian high-end restaurants since its opening and has won numerous awards and praises in Shanghai in the last two years.
Behind all this fame was the immense effort and diligent management by the team.
In Shanghai, DA VITTORIO combines Italian classics with quality Chinese ingredients, spices, and flavors.
The newly opened NEW WAVE by DA VITTORIO is the first venture by the Cerea family into the art museum restaurants.
The new restaurant’s name was inspired by the opening exhibition "'85 New Wave: the Birth of Chinese Contemporary Art," hosted by UCCA in Beijing in 2007.
The birth of NEW WAVE will write a new chapter in art museum dining experiences in Shanghai.
The space is designed in consistence with the concept of museum.

urate transitional moments through a sequence of abstracted and experiential spaces. Referencing the colonnade, in classical architecture defined as a long sequence of columns, we bring arches as a prototype element into the space, as one moves through the feature bar to interior dining and outdoor terrace, This abstracted colonnade brings guest from the public museum space into the more private dining room, through a compressed long corridor to a released open area, the sequence of arched mirrors create the illusion of an infinite journey dominated by spatial progression.
There are three private dining rooms on both sides of the terrace, great for gatherings with friends and business meetings.
Aesthetics of Food
The restaurant Chef Francesco Bonvini has formerly served as the sous chef of DA VITTORIO SHANGHAI and worked in DA VITTORIO Italy.
With the support and supervision by DA VITTORIO SHANGHAI's Executive Chef Stefano Bacchelli, under the guidance of DA VITTORIO Italy's Executive Duo of Chefs Chicco, Bobo and Cerea Family, Francesco Bonvini takes charge of the menu in New Wave.
In addition to the specially created dishes based on Italian classics, the restaurant has also created a specialised wine list covering the best Italian estates and niche wines.
In collaboration with UCCA Edge, NEW WAVE will launch a special limited edition art wine list and menu, combining the art style and specific works of the museum's exhibition to continue to extend the aesthetic enjoyment of guests' taste buds.
DV’s Homemade Gelato
There is also a café by DA VITTORIO at the entrance of NEW WAVE.
It serves homemade focaccia and DV’s homemade Gelato, freshly made from the NEW WAVE kitchen.
UCCA Edge is located in the central Shanghai Jing'an District. In 2022, UCCA Edge will host a series of exhibitions, including German artist Thomas Demand’s first solo exhibition, “the Stutter of History”, in China; "Matisse by Matisse," Matisse’s first solo exhibition in China with more than 250 original works and the large-scale group exhibition "Sailing Through the Constellations”.
With the support of New Wave , UCCA Edge is set to become an iconic art museum in Shanghai.
