News! Some Compounds in Shanghai Release Provisional Passes
As of April 29th, all 16 of Shanghai districts had cut off COVID-19 transmission chains in communities, representing that Shanghai reached its zero-COVID status at the community level.
However, it didn’t last long. In the past few days, new cases of community transmission were found. This resulted in downtown areas only allowing some of their residents to leave their compound with a “provisional pass”.
Exact Restrictions Could Vary

Some of you may already have some version of this provisional pass, where your time of leaving and entering the compound is recorded.
The exact restrictions vary among different areas. In Changshou Lu Street (Putuo District), for example, one person per household is permitted to go out for two hours per day with the provisional pass, starting from May 5th. Residents are required to get their temperature checked, show their health code, test negative for antigen and complete registration at the gate before leaving.
