Must-visit Spots in West Bund


Long Museum



The Long Museum (West Bund) covers an area of 33,000 m².



Planting nearly 140 sakura trees, Long Museum becomes a popular spot for taking photos in March and April.



Transformed from the Beipiao Coal Wharf, Long Museum combines retro industrial relics with ultra-modern design. Many people are attracted by the strong contrast to take photos here.

Located in the Long Museum, the Long Restaurant retains the original building's exposed concrete and umbrella arch structure. The restaurant specializes in creative Western cuisine with seasonal ingredients and regularly introduces dishes corresponding to artworks exhibited in the museum.

Start Museum



After eight years of preparation, the Start Museum has finally opened.



The museum is designed by Pritzker Architecture Prize winner Jean Nouvel. He not only retained the layout, railway tracks, and carriages of the Nanpu Railway Station warehouse but also created new exhibition spaces.



There are four exhibition spaces and three terraces setting exhibitions, bookstores, rest spaces, and other open-to-the-public functions in one place.



In addition, the old train parked on the left side of the museum is also an unmissable spot, which is free and open to the public all day. In the future, it may also be turned into a train-schemed café.

Next to the railway tracks of the former Nanpu Station, there is a pink sakura wood.



From now until April 30, the "West Bund Bus" that passes through the West Bund Museum, Long Museum, and Start Museum is available.

MGM Shanghai West Bund



As the first luxury hotel in the West Bund, the MGM Shanghai West Bund opened its door earlier this year.



The hotel's interior design created by Hirsch Bedner Associates (HBA) is filled with Chinese porcelain elements.



The hotel has 161 rooms and 58 suites with excellent views.




Variable facilities including three restaurants, a bar, a fitness center and Tria SPA provide an enjoyable stay for visitors.

AI PLAZA



Fulling of futuristic elements, the AI PLAZA has been a popular place since its opening.



This building incorporates elements of nature, art, wisdom, and technology.



It is near the Longhua Airport, so its architectural design is inspired by aircraft wings.



Walking into the semi-open valley corridor and passing through the nearly 300 m² of greenery, you can feel the connection between nature and technology.



The interior of the mall, which uses curves and surface designs, creates a visually intersecting sense. 



More than 90% of new brand stores are introduced. This spring and summer, the immersive science fiction experience project authorized by the Three-Body Universe will be opened.



With various featured brands and exquisite dining, you can spend your day off in the AI PLAZA.



YONGFU MINI



Located on the 5th floor of the AI PLAZA, YONGFU MINI is more affordable than the Michelin-starred restaurant YONGFU. Seven VIP rooms are available for both business banquets and family gatherings.



Buna & Pâte



Buna & Pâte is a bakery that specializes in freshly baked French bread and coffee. There is a wide selection of coffee beans for hand-drip coffee at a favourable price.

Mangoohub



Located in the West Bund Media Port, Mangoohub is an artistic Instagram spot.



The rotating staircase is designed like orange scales.

Tank Shanghai



Tank Shanghai is designed by the well-known architectural design firm OPEN, with five real aviation oil storage tanks.



The building complex covers an area of about 50,000 m², integrating galleries, exhibitions, and mini theaters. There is a park in the outdoor space.

West Bund Museum



Designed by Sir David Chipperfield and his team, West Bund Museum covers an area of about 25,000 m², and it took three years to complete the construction. It aims to create an open and cozy interdisciplinary cultural center, allowing the public to experience diversified art life and to be a part of it.

Beaubourg



Beaubourg, a high-end French restaurant, is located on the 2nd floor of the West Bund Museum.



Through the floor-to-ceiling windows, you can see the magnificent view of the Huangpu River. The founder of the restaurant is a certified chef and has worked in several Michelin restaurants.

YUZ Museum



The 9,000 m² Yuz Museum was previously home to the Longhua Airport airplane hangar. The red space is designed by renowned Japanese architect Sou Fujimoto.

ART TOWER



Located next to the AI PLAZA, ART TOWER is an international art trading center. It regularly hosts exhibitions.



The complex consists of seven buildings of varying heights. Designer Kazuyo Sejima is the second female architect to win the Pritzker Architecture Prize. ART TOWER is not only her first architectural work in China, but also one of the largest architectural works she has designed in the world.

West Bund Dome Art Center



The West Bund Dome Art Center was transformed from a homogenization silo. Last year, it became the main venue for the 8th West Bund Art & Design, along with the West Bund Art Center. In the future, many exhibitions will be held here.

Shanghai Center of Photograph



American architects, Sharon Johnston and Mark Lee, designed the Shanghai Center of Photography to bring Pulitzer Prize-winning founder Liu Xiangcheng's cross-cultural inspiration to life.



An intimate, innovative venue, the SCôP is the first space of its kind in Shanghai, blending the atmosphere of a photo gallery with the scope and vision of a museum. The SCôP exhibits photographs from artists around the world, aiming to renew and reinvigorate public enthusiasm for photography.

LOAM



LOAM, the glass coffee shop, is a must-visit café in the West Bund.



The round arched glass house reflects beautiful light under the sun.



It is a perfect destination for sunbathing and gathering with friends.

Manner Coffee (Xuhui Binjiang)



The Manner Coffee near the Binjiang Skateboard Park is a super beautiful river view terrace café. It became popular as soon as it opened.



Customers can overlook the scenery on both sides of the river on the large terrace of this three-floor glass house.



It is a pet-friendly café. Cream and lattes specialized for dogs are available here.

Café Les Halles 



Located on the east side of the 1st floor of the West Bund Museum, Café Les Halles is a café with refined decoration.



The name reminds people of the Les Halles district next to the Pompidou Center in Paris. The French-style decoration and exquisite desserts inspired by artworks attract many people to have a try.

Qiao Coffee (West Bund)



If you take a slow walk from the Yuz Museum towards the river, you will see Qiao Coffee, a century-old brand under Qiao Jia Zha.

Not far from the Haishita Square, there is a KFC hidden in a white American-style house, with a red striped triangular roof and English signage.

Binjiang Skateboard Park



The Binjiang Skateboard Park 2.0 covers a total area of 4800 m² and consists of two areas, the NBA-themed basketball court and the NBA art-themed sunken skateboard plaza.



While retaining its openness, functionality, and professionalism, the upgraded skateboard park has incorporated more sports-themed elements.
