Incoming: Screen-print art from Shanghai and Phnom Penh

In November 2015 artist duo IdleBeats initiated a project aiming to bring together the artistic minds of different cities in a series of exciting silkscreen exhibitions. Dedicated to the creation of ‘soulful screen-print art’, IdleBeats’ founders Nini Sum and Gregor Koerting are the artists behind the first independent screen-printing studio in China.

After success with the primary Tale of Two Cities project with Parisian silkscreen pioneer FrenchFourch, this time the IdleBeats team are looking to Southeast Asia, and have invited art collective Sticky Fingers Art Print Cambodia to write the second chapter of the collaborative tale.

Reflecting the rich lives of locals in both Shanghai and Phnom Penh, visitors can expect an explosive collection of print works from the two groups, including a photo documentary detailing IdleBeats’ Cambodia adventure, to be shown at the exhibition opening. The fantastic documentary includes the tales of the team riding around Phnom Penh and brainstorming the collaboration print with Sticky Fingers under the burning sun by the ocean in Kampot.
