Inspired by Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, it’s the tale of two teen gangs, the Sharks and the Jets as they battle for control of their New York neighbourhood. West Side Story may not quite be on the level of Bloods and Crips gang warfare, it’s a wonderful tale that is widely regarded as one of the greatest musicals of all time.

The Bodyguard

The musical version of The Bodyguard does not improve on the film's already weak story, but there's more of what you bought the ticket for - Whitney Houston's music. Big, bold, and with plenty of spectacle, this show is not going to do anything for your IQ, but Whitney's fans will love it. This year's guilty summer pleasure.

Man and Superman NT Live (Screening)

A fresh take on Shaw's indictment of romance and, indeed, woman-kind. The protagonist, a rich and garrulous bachelor, flees from a pursuing romantic conquest and ends up in Spain, where he engages in a debate with the devil. This has gotten rave reviews, particularly Ralph Fiennes. Running time is long but reportedly worth the effort.
