Deputy Editor
We’re looking for a Deputy Editor to work closely alongside the Managing Editor to oversee the day-to-day running of Time Out Shanghai digital and print products. While there will be opportunities for writing, the role will largely involve editing and optimising content to be platform appropriate and planning and coordinating features and content packages with section editors.
The right candidate will have a keen eye for detail, be hyper organised and have a good knowledge of, and passion for, Shanghai and the Time Out brand.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with the editors and writers to generate content ideas
- Pitch and assist with coordinating regular features
- Proofread, edit and fact-check raw copy
- Ensure content is optimised to be platform appropriate before publication
- Manage the running of our daily WeChat channel and website
- Assist with the production cycle of the monthly magazine
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous experience editing and subediting
- Familiarity with SEO, Content Management Systems, Adobe Photoshop and Creative Suite
- Previous digital experience, ideally managing a WeChat subscription account and experience with Google Analytics
- Strong organisational skills, an acute attention to detail and excellent multi-tasking skills
