Where to get your meals to go this holiday season

If you don't went to spend the holidays in the kitchen, there's hope for you yet – plenty of places in Shanghai have got Christmas meals and roasted turkeys to go so you can still have the perfect meal at home. Here's where to find everything you need for the perfect festive dinner at home.

Kerry Hotel Pudong

Choices include a whole fire-roasted turkey, honey-roasted ham, roasted Australian rib-eye and more. Christmas hampers start from 1,238RMB (nett) with a-la-carte options from 998RMB. Reservations need to be made two-days in advance so that the team can prepare.

Boxing Cat

Get a whole butter-roasted turkey with herb pan gravy and cranberry sauce for 1,088RMB, or get the that with all the fixings for 1,388RMB which includes dinner rolls and butter, mashed potatoes and sage stuffing (feeds six to eight people). Desserts and non-turkey options are also available and sets need to ordered three days in advance of pickup.

Madison Kitchen

Grab Madison Kitchen's full-on Christmas set: citrus-brined turkey with giblet gravy; whole wheat stuffing with sage, celery and brown butter; roasted veggies and lots more. The set is 1,600RMB and serves eight. Orders need to be placed at least three days in advance with full payment.

Victor's

Order a raw or cooked turkey complete with traditional gravy, pumpkin or apple pie, and a selection of four delicatessen style salads. A four-person family set costs 888RMB. You can also get a bottle of wine included for 1,088RMB or a bottle of Champagne for 1,488RMB.

Westin Bund Center

Get a five to six-kilo whole roast turkey for 1,200RMB. Available through 7 January.

Sasha's

There are two sets available: 5kg turkey for 888RMB or a 7kg turkey for 1,188RMB, each including stuffing and gravy and cranberries. Or, try the honey roasted ham for 588RMB with gravy and cranberries. Available for pick up or delivery (50RMB fee within 3km or 80RMB within 5km). Orders need to be placed at least three days in advance.

Pie Society

This year Pie Society is making small batches of mince pies on the weekends leading up to Christmas day. These sweet treats boast an all butter crust with traditional mincemeat filling (raisins, sultanas and apple) dressed up with orange peel and cognac. Plus, these pies use vegetable fat instead of suet, so they are vegetarian-friendly. Pies are 15RMB each and available by the batch (minimum order of a dozen).

Breakfast Champion

518RMB gets you a roasted turkey breast, sage-and-onion-stuffed turkey leg, turkey gravy and a one-kilo Christmas ham, plus extras like sage and onion sausage meat, mini chicken sausages and streaky bacon. Orders should be placed at least two days in advance.

FIELDS 

Choose from three ready-to-serve Christmas menus with classic sides: a fruit-and-herb-brined turkey dinner for four to six people (1,599RMB early bird); a turkey and smoked ham dinner for up to 12 people (2,399RMB early bird) and a smaller roast chicken dinner for two to three people (399RMB early bird). Orders need to be placed in advance; available the weekend of 9-10 December (for those travelling during the holidays) and then through 22-25 December.
