More than 4 million people visited Shanghai during CNY

Did you stick around in Shanghai over the holidays? You may have thought it was pretty peaceful as you strolled past the shuttered stores of the Former French Concession, but the city's popular tourist spots were as busy as ever.
According to Sina, 4.43 million tourists flocked to the city over the week's holiday, with tourism revenue (4.94 billion RMB) rising by around 1.5 percent from last year, despite the number of people visiting the city being roughly the same.
Yuyuan Gardens welcomed more than 1.7 million visitors during Spring Festival, according to the Shanghai Tourism Administration, with a lantern show on Saturday 17 attracting a staggering 260,000 revellers.
Water towns such as Qibao and Zhujiajiao were also incredibly popular with visitors, as was the pedestrian mall section of Nanjing Lu (3.9 million people), The Bund (1.9 million) and Shanghai Disney which had to suspend tickets sales due to the immense number of people on Sunday 18 and Monday 19.
