Shanghai's weekend temperatures reach record high

Did you enjoy yesterday's warm weather and resulting thunder cataclysm? According to Xinhua, yesterday's temperature in downtown Shanghai reached 23.5 degrees Celsius. The last March 4 in Shanghai that reached temperatures this high was 86 years ago, when the mercury jumped up to 24.8 degrees Celsius.

What probably followed that jump then, was what followed last night: an orgiastic light show of Olympian proportions, like Zeus himself had a few too many trendy cocktails and was haphazardly flinging his thunder fingers across his phone, trying to call a cab with a wet touch screen. And what a sight it was.

While the temperature has dropped back down to the high nine's for this week, the days after will surely be the beginning of spring. But let's not get started on the Shanghai's sweaty summers.
