Strawberry Fest warm-up to feature Yuck, Edison Chen and more

With Daydream, edc, Midi, and Strawberry all on the way, this spring's festival season is going to be a busy one. We still don't know who'll be headlining Strawberry yet, but organisers Modern Sky are looking to grab some attention by running a 'Warm-up Series' at the Hongkou shopping mall that hosts their 'Lab' livehouse.

The series will feature and art and design market and pop-up fashion shop for the first three weeks of April, with Edison Chen appearing for a talk on the opening day.

Then, over the weekend of April 14-15, Modern Sky Lab will host live performances from British indie-rockers Yuck, and Chinese acts City Flanker, Mr Graceless, Big Wave, Wu Jianjing, and Re-TROS (Rebuilding the Rights of Statues). After-parties on the weekend will be headed up by Laughing Ears and Diamond Lil.

They'll also be running a Young Blood competition to seek out new bands, with the winning acts being given the chance to perform at Strawberry Festival in May.
