Set in the gorgeous Suzhou-inspired garden grounds of historic Rui Jin Hotel (currently an Intercontinental), this restaurant concept from the Light & Salt group is fine dining through and through. Think delicate plating and sophisticated flavours in dishes like trout with sesame and a spiced carrot emulsion or organic spring chicken with a liver cream sauce and medjool dates.

With a whole new menu and new chef Patrick Leano running the show in the kitchen, Italian mainstay Scarpetta is out to prove that old dogs can learn new tricks – and great ones at that. The emphasis here now is on the impressive pizza list, but don't sleep on the wagyu beef carpaccio with black truffle aioli or the bone marrow orecchiette.

An innovative Italian restaurant in The Sukhothai Shanghai. Created by guest Chef de Cuisine Theodor Falser (of one-Michelin-star restaurant Johannesstube) and Chef de Cuisine Stefano Sanna, the menu here focuses on dishes made using fresh and organic ingredients, complemented by a wide selection of Italian boutique wines – think warm octopus salad, buffalo mozzarella cheese, Spaghetti alla chitarra, pesto marinated ‘milk-fed’ pork neck and the signature three-grain risotto.

Upscale knife brand Zwilling JA Henckels has opened a sleek new global flagship store at HKRI Taikoo Hui, and within it a stunning Mediterranean-influenced restaurant. Take your pick of laid-back or fancy as the space is broken up into two different but equally eye-popping dining spaces. German chef Cornelia Poletto runs the kitchen and she’s crafted a range of delights like a crispy sea bass with mushroom, spring onions and pea cream.
