The top 14 things to do in Shanghai this week

It's Monday again and we're sorry about that. However, there's no need to get down, as there's a lot of great stuff to look forward to this week in Shanghai. The knock out stages of the FIFA World Cup continues to throw up surprises, The Rooster is celebrating all things red, white and blue for July 4 and local band Duck Fight Goose hit Bandai Namco Shanghai Base. Green Drinks July Forum: Feeding Our Future

Green Drinks 111th Monthly Sustainability Forum is hosting an evening with Wayne Weiseman on the future of sustainable food culture. Topics of discussion include alternative ways of growing food, ways to redesign our urban environment to support a healthier and more organic lifestyle, and how individuals in the city can reconnect with their land and food.

WeBox x Moka Bros Boxing Brunch

In celebration of the opening of new boxercise gym WeBox this month, the team have partnered up with Moka Bros to create a special morning of boxing and brunch. Kick off your weekend with an hour boxing session in Xiangyang Park at 9am, and then head to Moka Bros for a nutritious brunch of either a veggie medley salad, Mexican bowl, or shrimp wrap with a milkshake or smoothie of choice. Craft & Farmers Market

CityMoments will be hosting its first Craft & Farmers Market at Tonglefang Square in Jingan. There will be over 30 vendors offering food, drinks, crafts, design and more. There will also be a bouncy castle and DIY courses for kids.

Shaving in the Dark's Drink & Draw: Mute

Indie comics collective Shaving in the Dark hosts its monthly Drink & Draw this Tuesday at Daliah, with drink specials and Guest DJs Drake and Donkey. Meet the 'shavers', have a few drinks, do some buzzed doodling and learn about their magazine and its upcoming print run with the theme, 'Mute' – an experiment in non-verbal comics with no language barrier. Art supplies provided.

DKNSTRKT Drag Eye Makeup Workshop

A free introductory workshop with Shanghai drag queen and makeup artist, Fantasia Valentina. Open to all people of any gender, this workshop will cover how to use colour for dramatic effect, how to cut crease and how to apply eyelashes like a pro. Makeup, makeup tools and mirror are not provided.

Construction of Reality

More than 30 pieces from Argentine conceptual artist Leandro Erlich, including his iconic mind-bending installations, will be on display at HOW Art Museum. Erlich is known for deftly subverting everyday objects and spaces on a large-scale to examine our relationship with the constructs we build around us.

Powerlong Museum and CUBE Consulting Group Inc. have come together to present a three-month contemporary art exhibition, WAVELENGTH: RESET. The exhibition will feature more than 100 sets of artworks from 40 artists around the world, ranging from paintings to new media to fashion.

Systems

Lin Tianmiao, known for video works and fabric sculptures about the female body, presents Systems at Rockbund Art Museum. The exhibition features two large-scale installations and a series of sculptures about, well, systems made of connected things forming a complex whole. Also featured are Tianmiao's iconic fabric sculptures 'Day-Dreamer' and 'High!!!'.
