In what is big news for fans of '90s/noughties British indie/alt rock, there's a very British and very nostalgic trilogy of concerts coming our way this fall. Because, there's nothing better than the brash yet catchy sounds of late '90s and early-2000s alt-rock to carry us through autumn's changing colours and into winter's desolate and despoiling cold.

The Fratellis

At the end of the month, The Fratellis will be kicking things off with an October 24 performance at Modern Sky Lab. Known for their theatrics and campy garage sound, these Glaswegians will be sure to deliver. If you don't know, this one is for fans of The Kooks or The Dresden Dolls.

📍 Modern Sky Lab, Third Floor, Moon Shopping Mall, 188 Ruihong Lu, near Dalian Lu. Tue 23. 8-10pm. 580RMB; 480RMB (presale); 1,080RMB (VIP).

Feeder

On November 24, Feeder is coming to Bandai Namco Future House to celebrate their 21st anniversary as a band. In the '90s, Londoner Grant Nicholas and Tokyo-born bassist Tara Hirose secured themselves a spot as one of Britain's most iconic rock bands. Their melodic pop-metal has won them six gold and platinum records in the UK and a global fanbase. There's no doubt this gig will be a good one.

📍 Bandai Namco Shanghai Base Future House, 179 Yichang Lu, near Jiangning Lu. Sat 24. 8pm-late. 489RMB; 380RMB (presale); 780RMB (VIP).

Franz Ferdinand

The Grammy-nominated indie rock band Franz Ferdinand will be making their first ever appearance in Mainland China this December at Modern Sky Lab. They will be performing songs from their fifth and most recent studio album, Always Ascending, an album that has allowed them to reinvent and revamp their sound.

📍 Modern Sky Lab, Third Floor, Moon Shopping Mall, 188 Ruihong Lu, near Dalian Lu. Thu 6 Dec. 9pm-late. 450RMB; 380RMB (presale).
