Closures and other weirdness to look out for because of the Expo

In case you've been living under a rock, or at least, are really good at ignoring billboards and advertisements on those screens on the metro, China's first International Import Expo is coming next week (Mon 5-Sat 10) and is bringing with it a few temporary and somewhat haphazard changes.

As an example, for some, tomorrow, tomorrow (Sat 3) will be a work day and Monday 5 and Tuesday 6 will be a day off, while for others it's just plain old Saturday and next week is a normal work week.

Some venues will be running on altered hours too, with Le Baron announcing they will shut at 2am on both nights this weekend (last entry with guest list at 11am), while their cocktail bar Beverly will not be open at all.

There will also be no parties at Mansion for the next two weekends (Sat 2-Sun 3 and Sat 9-Sun 10) and Arkham has also released a statement saying they will suspend operation until Sun 10.

Also, expect heightened security at Shanghai's train stations, as some 800 out-of-town officers are expected to arrive to help bolster the police ranks. We also advise foreigners to carry their passports at all times.

We'll have more things Expo coming at you next week.
