Time Out Screening: catch If You Are The One for free at Glam

Every month, we screen films from our list of 100 Best Mainland China Films at Glam, M on the Bund. Complete with complimentary gourmet popcorn. This month's film is If You Are The One (2008), directed by Feng Xiaogang.
This low-ish budget rom-com is a return by Feng to the genre that made his name. In his late 40s and fresh from his life overseas, multimillionaire Qin Fen (Ge You) decides to end his bachelor life. He starts advertising online for potential marriage partners ('if you are the one') and spends the following weeks going from one disappointing date to another.
After jaunts with a cemetery saleswoman, an expectant single mother and an amnesiac, he finally meets Xiaoshu (Shu Qi). An air stewardess, she's gorgeous and engaging but Chin can't quite shake the feeling that she's way out of his league. A bawdy, well-observed riot.
If You Are The One has been very successful at the Chinese box office and is one of Feng's top grossing films to date.
