Podcasts are getting more and more popular these days and China isn't missing out on the hype. So, we weren't at all surprised when we heard there was a dedicated festival coming to Shanghai celebrating all things podcasting. Headphones at the ready.
This Saturday 19, organised by Shanghai Foreign Correspondents Club, the first-ever PodFest China! is going down at WeWork on Tiantong Lu. A Mecca for podcast nerds, the event is aimed at people making podcasts, people who want to make podcasts and people who simply enjoy listening to them. During the event, popular China-based podcasters and industry insiders will share their top podcasting tips.
There will be a 'So You Want to Make a Podcast' Q&A panel with the likes of Jennifer Pak and Eric Olander, covering the most common questions raised by rookie and aspiring podcasters.
Shannon Martin of podcast hosting platform Podbean will be there to introduce the Podcast Brunch Club community and discuss podcasting trends abroad, while there will also be talks from Yang Yi (editor of the JustPod Newsletter) and Yan Lin (Operation Manager at Himalaya FM International).
