Are you ready for autumn? The rain and dropping temperatures can be annoying but Shanghai's got plenty to keep spirits high this week. We've got Canadian pop queen Carly Rae Jepsen coming to town, a masquerade party, an immersive cabaret show and some new films hitting cinemas including Ang Lee's action thriller Gemini Man and Maleficent 2, starring Angelina Jolie. Autumn Designer Market


Check out some of Shanghai's best handicrafts, one-of-a-kind fashion, jewellery, affordable art pieces and so much more. Sip on wine and artisan coffee, and savour freshly baked pastries while strolling through Yong Ping Lane, zigzagging from Hengshan to Yongjia Lu.

MasquerART II


Shanghai art community Elevate is throwing a masquerade in a hidden mansion and garden on Gaoyou Lu in Xuhui. There will be music, dance performances and live painting, and a three-course dinner is also available for additional purchase. Dress code is smart casual and a mask is included with each ticket.

Carly Rae Jepsen: The Dedicated Tour


Carly Rae Jepsen is coming to the Bandai Namco Shanghai Base Dream Hall as part of The Dedicated Tour. Hear the pop star's earworms live including 'I Really Like You' and the Grammy-nominated hit 'Call Me Maybe'.

Nothing China Tour 2019


Founded in South Philadelphia by Domenic Palermo who initially began compiling music as a therapeutic outlet for dealing with a turbulent life, Nothing was reconstituted as a full band after Palermo met guitarist/singer Brandon Setta and drummer Kyle Kimball.

BRONCHO China Tour 2019


From 'la-la-la' and 'ooh-ooh-ooh' to 'Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo', sometimes nonsense syllables capture the improvisational joy of pop music better than proper words ever could. Gemini Man


Ang Lee's action thriller Gemini Man, starring Will Smith, Clive Owen and Elizabeth Winstead tells the story of Henry Brogan, a retiring hitman working for the government who finds out that he is being pursued by another hitman who is a younger clone of himself.

Maleficent: Mistress of Evil


Maleficent (Angelina Jolie) and soon-to-be queen Princess Aurora (Elle Fanning) have to join forces despite of their complicated past in order to fight against a new villain and protect their kingdom and the magical creatures inside it.

National Theatre Live: Allelujah!


Filmed live at London’s Bridge Theatre, Alan Bennett's Allelujah! takes place at the Beth, an old fashioned cradle-to-grave hospital serving a town on the edge of the Pennines that is threatened with closure as part of an efficiency drive. A documentary crew, eager to capture its fight for survival, follows the daily struggle to find beds on the Dusty Springfield Geriatric Ward, and the triumphs of the old peoples' choir.
