Home to a collection of over 5,000 Chinese propaganda posters, the Propaganda Poster Art Center is leaving its current digs in the basement of a residential tower block. On Tuesday 3 December, the collection is moving to a newer and bigger home on the seventh floor of the East Tower of Huamin Han Zhen International Plaza on 726 Yanan Xi Lu, a 12-minute walk from its current location on Huashan Lu.

Yang Pei Ming, the museum's founder, started to collect the posters in 1995, when local authorities began taking down propaganda materials across the city. Although not as big as other museums in the city, it's the only one of its kind that's dedicated to documenting the modernisation of China as depicted on thousands of cartoonist style posters from 1910 to 1990.

Make some time to visit the museum if you haven't yet as it's a must-see. After your visit, head to the gift shop for original and replicated propaganda posters and antique trinkets. Its current estimated closure date is on Wednesday 27 and will reopen on Tuesday 3 December at the new location – call ahead just to be safe if you were planning a visit in the next couple weeks.

📍B1, Bldg 4, 868 Huashan Lu, near Wukang Lu. 25RMB.
