The discussion covered two topics: the situation and challenges of the global economy and the new growth impetus of the transforming Chinese economy.

Dr. Jim Yong Kim, World Bank President
The World Bank is a vital source of financial and technical assistance to developing countries around the world. It is not a bank in the ordinary sense but a unique partnership to reduce poverty and support development.

Christine Lagarde, Managing Director of IMF
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) is an organization of 189 countries, working to foster global monetary cooperation, secure financial stability, facilitate international trade, promote high employment and sustainable economic growth, and reduce poverty around the world.

Roberto Azevêdo, WTO Director-General
The World Trade Organization (WTO) is the only global international organization dealing with the rules of trade between nations. At its heart are the WTO agreements, negotiated and signed by the bulk of the world’s trading nations and ratified in their parliaments. The goal is to help producers of goods and services, exporters, and importers conduct their business.

Guy Ryder, ILO Director-General
The only tripartite U.N. agency, since 1919 the International Labour Organization brings together governments, employers and workers representatives of 187 member States, to set labour standards, develop policies and devise programmes promoting decent work for all women and men.

Angel Gurría, Secretary-General of the OECD
The mission of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) is to promote policies that will improve the economic and social well-being of people around the world.

Mark Carney, Chair of the FSB
The Financial Stability Board (FSB) is an international body that monitors and makes recommendations about the global financial system.

We believe that the fundamentals of the Chinese economy remain positive in the long run.

The Chinese economy will achieve strong, sustainable and balanced growth, and make a continuous contribution to global economic growth.

China maintained steady growth during the first half of 2016, registering 6.7% year-on-year. Economic structure has been improved

China has taken the initiative to adapt to and guide the economic New Normal. While supporting aggregate demand, China continues to strengthen the structural reform, especially the structural reform on the supply-side.

The leaders reached consensus that all stakeholders need to facilitate structural reform, stabilize the financial market and economic expectation, and promote strong, sustainable and balanced growth of the Chinese and global economy.

We recognize that aggregate demand will remain weak in the short run, and it will take time for supply-side policies to show effects, so a comprehensive package of policies are needed to strike a good balance between short-term and long-term goals

We recognize the importance of structural reforms in dealing with the slowdown of global productivity growth and promoting steady, durable and inclusive recovery of global economy, which is also essential in realizing the ambition of the G20 Blueprint on Innovative Growth introduced by Chinese Presidency of G20.

We need to make efforts to foster new sources of growth such as innovation, new industrial revolution and the digital economy

Premier Li Keqiang met with the heads of world's six major financial bodies, including the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank, and the World Trade Organization this morning.

During the meeting, he outlined the current state of China's economy, which has been undergoing major structural reforms.

"China will continue to advance the reform of the market-determined exchange rate. China's economy is, in general, in a stable condition. The savings rate is relatively high. The trend for our economic development is positive. We will maintain our currency levels at a stable level and not engage in currency or trade wars."

A press release from the meeting says China is committed to fostering innovation and other new growth engines, deepening structural reform in particular on the supply-side.

This coincides with the Chinese government's decision on Wednesday to officially implement a five-year plan for technological innovation.

A government statement says the new plan will facilitate the rise of new economies and propel ongoing economic upgrades in China.

The International Monetary Fund has lowered the forecast for global economic growth, due to the uncertainties brought about by the UK's decision to leave the European Union.

However, Christine Lagarde, Managing Director of IMF, said China offers a different picture.

"We've increased the forecast for China in 2016 by 0.1%, because we have witnessed the determined and decisive implementation of reform. Second is the support given to the economy, in order to encourage growth going forward. On the later point, it did not take for vast fiscal stimulus, but simply some consolidate steady support in order to make sure that growth was indeed and sustainable."

And China's moves to cut excess capacity, especially in the coal and steel sectors, were another issue that grabbed the limelight at the round-table meeting.

Premier Li Keqiang said the pressure was coming from inside rather than abroad.

"It's necessary for China to cut overcapacity in order to adjust the industrial structure. China's output of crude steel is relatively large. Nearly 90% of the production is to meet domestic needs for urbanization and industrialization. The export volume is relatively low. And we also don't encourage or support enterprises to export crude steel. We even raised export tariffs, to prevent the spread of high-polluting and energy consuming enterprises in the country."

World Bank President Jim Yong Kim praised China's contribution to multilateralism, as the only country to host 2 new multilateral organizations in the past two years.

"All of us here at this table believe very strongly that what we need is more multilateralism, and more trade. So my most important take-away is that I'm grateful to premier Li and the Chinese government for this message of embracing multilateralism, and working together to solve the world's most difficult problems. This is a message very much needed today."

Participants at the meeting also include the chiefs of the International Labor Organization, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, and the Financial Stability Board.

They have agreed that the round-table should become a regular mechanism to strengthen ties between China and international organizations.

The round-table meeting was held ahead of this weekend's gathering of finance officials of the Group of 20 major economies in Chengdu.
