原来，在国际自然保护联盟（IUCN）最新版的《世界自然保护联盟濒危物种红色名录》中，大熊猫的濒危级别下调了，从“濒危”Endangered降低至“易危”Vulnerable等级。

灭绝 (Extinct/EX)

野外灭绝 (Extinct in the Wild/EW)

极危 (Critically Endangered/CR)

濒危 (Endangered/EN)

易危 (Vulnerable/VU)

近危 (Near Threatened/ NT)

无危 (Least Concern/LC)

其中，“极危”、“濒危”和“易危”3个级别虽然略有不同，但是被统称为“受威胁”物种，都是生物保护工作中最应关注的对象。
