教育部、财政部、国家发展改革委印发《关于公布世界一流大学和一流学科建设高校及建设学科名单的通知》，公布世界一流大学和一流学科（简称“双一流”）建设高校及建设学科名单。

The term “double first-class,” which refers to “world-class university” and “world-class discipline”.

The project, in the form of five-year plans, envisages China having some 40 universities and a number of majors recognized as world-class by 2020.
