Ratko Mladic, former commander of the Bosnian Serb army, has been sentenced to life imprisonment by the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia at the Hague.

In addition, Mladic was found guilty of five counts of crimes against humanity during the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina from May 1992 to late 1995.

He was also found guilty of four counts of other war crimes.

The verdict comes at the end of a trial which began in 2012. Delays have been caused by Mladic's declining health.
