The United States has vetoed a UN Security Council draft resolution on the status of Jerusalem.

All other 14 members of the Security Council voted in favor of the Egyptian-drafted text.

They also hold that Israel has no sovereignty over the whole of Jerusalem, and that the issue should be solved by Israel and Palestine through negotiations.
