Part 1. Overall Mobile Phone Market in China

August domestic mobile phone shipmentsreached 47.6 million units, up0.4percent year over year. 121 new models were released in the month, up 45.8 percent year over year.

YTD domestic mobile phone shipments reached 352.0million units and YTD number of new model release reached1021, up7.0 percent and down 2.6percent year over year, respectively.

Part 2.Development of 4G Mobile Phones

August domestic 4G mobile phone shipments were44.4million units, up9.0percent year over year, and represented 93.3 percent of the total shipments. 106new 4G models were released in the month, up 60.6 percent year over year, accounting for 87.6percent of the total new models this month.

YTD domestic 4G mobile phone shipments were 325.7 million units, up 18.7 percent year over year, and represented 92.5 percent of the total shipments. YTD number of new model release reached 876, up14.8 percent year over year, accounting for 85.8 percent of the total new model release.

Out of the total 4G mobile phone shipments this month, 70.8 percent of which were all networks supported, and77.9%, 97.6%,76.9%, 71.9% of the 4G mobile phones shipped supported FDD LTE, TD-SCDMA, WCDMA, cdma2000 network, respectively.

Part 3.Local and MNC Brands of Mobile Phones

August mobile phone shipments by the local brands reached 44.7 million units, up6.2percent year over year, accounting for 94.0 percent of the domestic mobile phone shipments. Number of new models released by the local brands(114 units)increased by 44.3 percent year over year, and represented 94.2percent of the total number of new model release in the month.

YTD mobile phone shipments by the local brands reached 317.8million units, up 16.7percent year over year, and accounted for 90.3 percent of the domestic mobile phone shipments. Number of new models released by the local brands (974 units) decreased by 2.2percent year over year, representing 95.4percent of the total number of new model release in the domestic market.

Part 4.Development of Smart Phones

August smart phone shipments were44.5million units, up 7.0 percent year over year, and accounted for 93.5percent of the domestic mobile phone shipments in the month.Of the total smartphone shipments, 38.1 million units were Android-based.

YTD smart phone shipments were 327.5million units, up 13.2percent year over year, and represented 93.0percent of the YTD domestic mobile phone shipments. Of the total smart phone shipments, 275.7 million units were Android-based.

In August, 106 new smart phone models were released, including 79Android smart phones. Number of new smart phones released in the month was up 58.2 percent year over year, and accounted for 87.6 percent of the number of new release.

YTD number of new model release reached 881, including 630Android smart phones, up7.6 percent year over year, and represented 86.3 percent of the YTD total number of new model release.
