Part 1. Overall Mobile Phone Market in China
May domestic mobile phone shipments were 33.8 million, down 11.8 percent year-over-year(y/y). 32 new models were released in the month, up 22.0 percent y/y.
Over the past 5 months, domestic mobile phone shipments were 124.4 million and number of new model were 169, down 18.0 percent and 18.8 percent y/y respectively.

Part 2. Development of 5G Mobile Phones
May domestic 5G mobile phone shipments were 15.6 million, and represented 46.3 percent of the total shipments.16 new 5G models were released in the month, accounting for 50.0 percent of the total new models released in the month.
YTD 5G mobile phone shipments were 46.1 million units, and the total number of new models were 81.
Part 3. Local and MNC Brands of Mobile Phones
May local brands of mobile phone shipments were 31.0 million, down 11.4 percent y/y, accounting for 91.7 percent of the total shipments. Number of new models released by the local brands were 29, decreased by 21.6 percent y/y, and represented 90.6 percent of the total number of new models released in the month.
YTD local brands of Mobile phone shipments were 112.0 million, down 19.9 percent y/y, and accounted for 90.0 percent of the domestic mobile phone shipments. Number of new models released by the local brands were 152, decreased by 17.4 percent y/y, and represented 89.9 percent of the total number of new models.

Part 4. Development of Smart Phones
May smart phone shipments were 32.7 million, down 10.4 percent y/y, and accounted for 96.7 percent of the total shipments in the month. Over the past 5 months, smart phone shipments were 121.2 million, down 16.0 percent y/y, and represented 97.4 percent of the total shipments.
In May, 25 new smart phone models were released, down 24.2 percent y/y, and accounted for 78.1 percent of number of new models released in the month. Over the past 5 months, 131 new smart phone models were released, down 20.6 percent y/y, and accounted for 77.5 percent of the total number of new models.
