Part 1. Overall Mobile Phone Market in China
December domestic mobile phone shipments were 26.6 million, down 12.6 percent year-over-year(y/y). 45 new models were released in the month, up 28.6 percent y/y.
Over the past 12 months, domestic mobile phone shipments were 307.9 million and number of new model were 462, down 20.8 percent and 19.4 percent y/y respectively.

Part 2. Development of 5G Mobile Phones
December domestic 5G mobile phone shipments were 18.2 million, and represented 68.4 percent of the total shipments. 19 new 5G models were released in the month, accounting for 42.2 percent of the total new models released in the month.
YTD 5G mobile phone shipments were 162.8 million units, and the total number of new models were 218.
Part 3. Local and MNC Brands of Mobile Phones
December local brands of mobile phone shipments were 20.6 million, down 22.8 percent y/y, accounting for 77.3 percent of the total shipments. Number of new models released by the local brands were 38, increased by 26.7 percent y/y, and represented 84.4 percent of the total number of new models released in the month.
YTD local brands of Mobile phone shipments were 269.6 million, down 23.5 percent y/y, and accounted for 87.5 percent of the domestic mobile phone shipments. Number of new models released by the local brands were 413, decreased by 18.7 percent y/y, and represented 89.4 percent of the total number of new models.

Part 4. Development of Smart Phones
December smart phone shipments were 25.2 million, down 12.8 percent y/y, and accounted for 94.8 percent of the total shipments in the month. Over the past 12 months, smart phone shipments were 295.7 million, down 20.4 percent y/y, and represented 96.0 percent of the total shipments.
In December, 40 new smart phone models were released, up 48.1 percent y/y, and accounted for 88.9 percent of number of new models released in the month. Over the past 12 months, 363 new smart phone models were released, down 14.4 percent y/y, and accounted for 78.6 percent of the total number of new models.
