@gsp: We can spend 14 million looking for one girl who disappeared ten years ago, but if your house is broken into – we have no money
@ICARUS: More important crimes to cover have they, like people tweeting hateful things at MPs? Unbelievable, what do we pay for?
@Shanks_Pony: This is not news…it’s been going on in Greater Manchester for years – victims (one, a small business owner) being told to amass evidence for themselves. It’s actually a Tony Party Policy, called “management decline”.
@John Barber: Yet the government -- and Sadiq Khan -- would rather put those police to work on 'big brother' online snooping, which costs millions of police man-hours. All so that we, the British people, are prevented from speaking up against Islam and its dangerous followers. How are they getting away with this?
@Real Divers: Time to get armed and take care of the problem yourself the Met are a waste of O2.
@John Hedley: So will the council tax be reduced accordingly? Thought not. Of course these cuts wont apply to the rich and famous who will still have the police at beck and call
@oldle: A Deputy Assistant Commissioner may not think ￡50 is a significant sum but there are plenty of people who do—ignoring this (and them) is an abrogation of responsibility and a form of discrimination in its own right.
@Gogsy: Great, what a message to send to petty criminals. Funny how they seem able to find manpower for historic investigations but seem lacking in current crime!
@Loving the alternative facts: Crimes aren’t investigated where I live. The police station has ben shut. No patrols, protection, prevention or justice. Hard working people suffering loss at the hands of antisocial thugs who think its ok to help themselves and do what they want. Lawless Britain. But the government don’t care. They have a magic money tree when it suits but nothing for the fundamental services.
@Javaid: I’m not surprised. My brother who is private hire driver was kidnapped on gunpoint and later dumped after two and half miles lost his car worth ￡9000 to the criminals. Police did not even to bother to go to his cab office to get detail such as its app tracking to catch the guy. Who definitely will be out soon to do the same. Very little effort by met.
