Please scroll down for the English version-UNNC graduate to integrate human spirit in the business world.

UNNC graduate to integrate human spirit in the business world
Zhekai Zhu, a graduate of Finance Accounting and Management of University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC), has received offers from renowned universities including the London School of Economics and Political Science and the University of Hong Kong. During his four years at UNNC, Zhekai found he benefited hugely from not only learning professional knowledge, but also the overseas exchange, volunteering, and art-related experiences.
At UNNC, Zhekai had a productive academic life. He joined Professor Pingping Fu's team, whose research integrated Confucianism with business theories and management from the perspective of traditional Chinese philosophy. With accumulated experience and understanding of the business world, he realised that in the long run the consideration of people and the environment and pursuit of profits can be balanced.
Zhekai has also represented the University of Nottingham in a three-week global citizenship programme, where he communicated and explored the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals for 2025 with college students from all around the world.
Driven by passion for the arts, Zhekai participated in various art festivals, formed his own band, Unicorn, joined the UNNC Choir as a tenor and won the first prize in the choral competition of the Zhejiang University Arts Festival. Zhekai has also participated in the online recording of the song If Tomorrow is the Next Life, hoping to inspire and pass hope to people during the pandemic. In his final year, Zhekai became the head of the Art Troupe and organised the first major gala on campus since its reopening after the pandemic, setting a good start to the recovery of art events on campus.
Seizing various opportunities offered by the University, Zhekai gained rich volunteering experience, which helped him further understand the philosophy of liberal arts rooted in UNNC’s education, as well as accumulated work experience after doing internships in multiple research and consulting organisations including the Zhejiang Branding Institute, Ningbo Inclusive Finance Research Centre and Taihe Think Tank. He was awarded The First UNNC Campus Liberal Arts Character in 2019 and the Vice-Chancellor's Medal for his remarkable contributions to the local alumni community.
When looking back at his undergraduate study, Zhekai is grateful for the continuous support his family, tutors and friends over the four years. He hopes to continue to pursue his dreams, ignited by the education he received at UNNC in the future academic journey.
