Space Planning Designer (For Furniture Installation Projects)

Brief Job Description: This Designer position is responsible for assisting in the implementation of the client’s space planning vision. Provides design services to explore space planning options, typical developments, programming and specifications.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
1/Responsibilities include creating floor plans and specifying AMQ furniture as part of furniture installation projects. This may include spec checking prior to handing over to sales and project management.
2/Conduct online meetings and the ability to present 3D models
3/Typical development including 3D renders & quotes.
4/Understands workplace environments and current trend awareness.
5/Develops block plans solutions to gain approvals from our clients.
6/Manage modifications, revisions and reconfigures.
7/Create installation documentation along with plotting / printing.
8/Knowledge of building codes and electrical requirements.
9/The position requires direct communication with the Design Manager for spec checking before submittal.

Work Environment:
Regularly works alone, with others face-to-face or over the phone. Rarely works offsite. Generally works in an office environment with moderate noise. Position primarily performs work in an indoor office setting;
Position requires travel approximately 5% of the time for various company, client, and other business-related meetings.

Physical Requirements:
Seeing, color perception, hearing/listening, clear speech, touching (finger and hand dexterity). Complex reading and writing skills, basic math skills, judgment/decision making and analysis/comprehension.

Additional Information:
Must be committed to understanding the need for producing accurate work in an expedient manner. The candidate should be detail oriented and have the ability to apply creative solutions. This position is geared for an individual who enjoys technical challenges; often convert metrics and working with multiple platforms. Must work well in deadline driven industry and have ability to provide friendly, professional service to AMQ & EQA clients.

Candidate Requirements:
1/Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university.
2/Certification or states license a plus. LEED Accreditation preferred.
3/Must be proficient in ACAD, 3-D visualization tools and Creative Adobe Suite applications.
4/Competent conceptual thinking, experiential design and storytelling in space.
5/Must have strong communication of the English language and presentation skills with the ability to convey concepts and ideas to clients.
6/Must have ability to multitask and manage several projects concurrently while meeting deadlines and completing other required tasks.
