Shenzhen Design Week

Shenzhen Design Week aims at building an international, professional cross-category platform for the design industry. This large-scale platform will facilitate international cultural exchange, enhance city branding and promotion, showcase global design achievements, and contribute to public education on design.

Shenzhen Design Week is programmed annually according to different themes and focuses. It will include a number of regular events and activities, such as Guest City, Cities of Design, Design Award, SZ-HK Design Twin-Cities, Design Tour, Design Talks.

“Design Twins-Cities” SZ-HK Design Exhibition

Shenzhen Design Week will be another important platform for moving both sides toward the great goal of Design Twin-Cities. Separated by a river Shenzhen has kept in touch with Hong Kong in the field of design for over 30 years.  

In 2016, Shenzhen and Hong Kong governments signed an agreement on developing cultural and creative industry, and made design  the focus. During September and November of 2016, two organizations, Shenzhen City of Design Promotion Association (SDPA) and Hong Kong Federation of Design Associations (HKFDA), successfully held the second SZ-HK Design Biennale and they reaffirmed their goal on building"Design Twin- Cities.”

Shenzhen and Hong Kong areworking to towards creating ‘Design Twin-Cities’, taking advantage of theirproximity and theircomplementarydesignstrengthsand resources. To date, two editions of the SZ-HK Design Biennale havebeen successfully organized,each of which haveenhancedthe exchange and cooperation between thetwocitiesby mobilizing designersand designresourcesfromboth cities. 

Shenzhen Design Week will be another important platform for moving both sides toward the‘Design Twin-Cities’ goal. Design Week will not only invite HongKong designers, but also create programmes thatshowcase the collaborations between industries from both sides.

At the Shenzhen Design Week, HKFDA together with SDPA curate SZ-HK Design Exhibition. It aims at showing some collaborations and some excellent designs from both sides, including Red Dot Design Award- and iF Design Award-winning products. We believe this exhibition will enhance the contact and collaboration among creative cities and make Shenzhen an important platform where global creative cities can show their design power and the talent of their designers.

深圳设计周旨在建立一个全球设计界沟通交流的舞台，从而对城市的产业转型和区域化发展产生指导作用。同时，打造出一个设计成果展示及交易平台、设计服务平台、国际交流平台、品牌推广平台和大众设计教育平台，力争造就出一批设计周的品牌项目，带动深圳设计产业整体发展，提升深圳城市国际影响力。

首届深圳设计周将以“面向未来的设计”为主题，期间将举办主宾城市展、设计之都专题展、设计市集、设计之旅等众多设计类活动。

“设计双城”深港设计展

设计周期间，我们将邀请深港两地的著名设计师就如何加强两地创意文化、尤其是设计领域的交流合作进行对话。

深圳与香港利用地理位置邻近的条件和设计资源及特长互补的特点，正在努力打造设计双城。深港设计双年展已经成功举办了两届，充分调动了两地的设计资源及设计力量，有力地加强了两地的设计交流与合作。

深圳设计周将成为又一个重要平台，有助于两地早日实现设计双城的远大目标。除了在这个平台上展示香港设计师的才华，我们更希望呈现两地设计产业合作的成果。
