Unique Cocktails in Shenzhen

If you're looking for a classy lounge with a beautiful view of the city and unique cocktails, you owe it to yourself to check out the Futian Hilton’s “Mr. Wong” located on the 23rd floor. Mr. Wong is a bar and lounge that boasts an amazing panoramic view of the Futian area and is linked to all the restaurants in the Futian Hilton.

If you are a guest at the hotel or in the area, you can enjoy a relaxing dinner with a beautiful city view combined with live music by “Winnie the Pink” Thursday’s – Saturday’s and classic and unique cocktails made by the bar manager Sasha.  This is a perfect venue for hosting a party or business event.

Mr. Wong was opened in December of 2016 and brought in its bar manager, Sasha about two months later. Sasha has a degree from the bartender international center and has travelled around the world working in many restaurants and bars as well as competed in many bartending competitions.  He brings a unique touch to the world of cocktails and creates drinks unique to your taste.

My first time running into Sasha at Mr. Wong, I was blown away by his imagination and how he could create works of art on the spot. He creates a constantly changing menu of cocktails that are unique and exclusive only to Mr. Wong (Classic cocktails are also available, every Wednesday, 18:30-19:30, RMB 188+15% service charge).

Another unique aspect of Sasha’s creations – is the fact that all cocktails come with a back story in the description giving an idea of how the drink came to be created – some fiction and some factual (let's call it cocktail trivia).

Mr. Wong has live music from Thursday – Saturday by “Winnie the Pink.” Winnie began practicing the guitar on her own and learned to sing and play four years ago. Since then, she has sung and played for fashion shows, bars, tv stations and private events. She came into Shenzhen roughly seven months ago and sings a combination of POP and classics from Western artists. 

Overall, I believe that Mr. Wong is a hidden gem in the Futian area. It is modern, classy and romantic and the staff are great and extremely professional. They open from 2:00 PM until 1:00 AM and can seat up to 100 people.
