New General Manager Brings New Vision for Grand Mercure Shenzhen

As Shenzhen begins to grow and mature, more and more businesses are flooding into the city and finding themselves in need of services that cater to their employees and allow a smooth transition in and out of the city. Grand Mercure Shenzhen Oriental Ginza has appointed Mr. David Bark as General Manager on April 25th, he is here to further improve the guest’s experience and elevate the overall look and feel of the hotel.

Originally from New Zealand, David studied in Hong Kong and has been in the hospitality industry over 25 years. From his studies in Hong Kong, he has spent 12 years working in Australia, also has worked in Malaysia prior to coming to China. His overall goal is to elevate the look and feel of the hotel as well as work with the staff to better improve the quality of service that the hotel guests are receiving.

Under his management, the hotel plans to increase the size of its coffee shop, create a new lobby bar, and offer an all day buffet style dining experience for its guests. Beyond the interior renovations, David is pushing to have the right staff in place so that guests who come to the hotel can have a tailor-made experience designed just for them.

“My strength is looking into the future and figuring out what needs to be done for years ahead.” With David's profession and standards, it will help make Grand Mercure Shenzhen as one of the leading hotels in the market.
