Futian Shangi-la, Shenzhen Held Wellness Day Activities

Shenzhen, 10 June 2017 – To celebrate Global Wellness Day, the hotel invited in-house guests, students from Dong Ying Primary School and fitness lovers to attend a series of activities in the Rooftop Garden on level 4 on Saturday, 10 June 2017.

Global Wellness Day is on the second Saturday of June. As the day globally dedicated to living well, it upholds the focus on wellness and a healthy lifestyle.

Guests joined the yoga session at 7:30 a.m. in the Rooftop Garden, where a yoga master not only presented a performance, but also taught every participant how to do a proper yoga gesture according to their physical conditioning.

At the same time, on one of the hotel’s outdoor tennis courts, professional tennis coaches from ATP Shenzhen Open taught students from Dong Ying Primary School basic tennis movements, such as the correct grip on the racket and how to properly swing a racket, to raise awareness and encourage an interest in sports.

On another tennis court, about 50 hotel colleagues performed aerobic exercises to help them achieve a better and healthier work–life balance.

After the activities, the hotel’s culinary team prepared a complimentary healthy buffet breakfast in the Rooftop Garden.

To practise one of the manifests of Global Wellness Day – ‘Eat healthy food’ – Futian Shangri-La, Shenzhen set up a small “Farmers Market” supplied by the hotel’s suppliers. Dong Sheng Farm provided fresh organic vegetables, including red spinach, chili, lettuce and many more. The Guang Xing Long Food Company also presented a variety of seafood in the Rooftop Garden.

To celebrate this special day, the hotel’s kitchen team had diligently prepared healthy options which were available at Café Zen, Shang Gourmet, Lobby Lounge and the Health Club reception area till 10 June 2017.

In addition to two standard outdoor tennis courts, Futian Shangri-La, Shenzhen has one of the largest fitness gyms in Shenzhen and features modern fitness equipment. The hotel commits itself to popularising extensive fitness programmes and has organised many CSR activities related to sports, such as vertical climbing and green rides.
