Q1. I got a new passport now, but my Chinese visa is on the old passport. How can I transfer my visa to my new passport? What should I do?
Answer: Chinese visa cannot be transfered from one passport to another one, but you can use both passports to enter and exit China, no need to transfer. When the old visa expires, you apply a new Chinese visa on new passport and then you can keep the old passport away into one of your collections if you want.
Q2. My Chinese visa says valid time is 3 months, but Duration of each stay is 30 days, so is it going to be a problem if I stay in China for 3 months?
Answer: Yes, definately. Besides valid time and duration of each stay, you should also pay attention to the Entries. If it is single entry, which means you can only enter China one time with this visa and cannot stay more than 30 days. Otherwise you will be considering as overstay and there will be penalty because of that, even leave bad record in the sytem.
Q3. My work visa is issued in Shenzhen, but actualy I am working in Beijing for another company, is it OK?
Answer: It is not OK, if reported or found out by local public bureau, you will need to pay penlaty from 5,000 rmb to 20,000 rmb, even get deported if they consider your case as severe violation.
Q4. The company I work for never pay any tax to government, will that affect my visa, should I worry?
Answer: Yes and No. Depends what type of company your company is. About tax, different city has different requirements regarding foreign employee's visa application. Same truth is that paying tax will only help your visa application, not the other way around.
Q5. I have a Chinese girlfriend, can I apply Chinese family visa?
Answer: There is no such visa type in China right now. You can only apply family visa after you are officially married.
