Shenzhen Blue Ocean Conservation Association

Shenzhen Blue Ocean Conservation Association (BOCA) is China’s first non-profit marine conservation organization.

In 2002, the first batch of divers in Shenzhen, who were employees of the Sea World Aquarium, spontaneously started to organize marine conservation activities. The idea of creating a special association to promote marine conservation was put forward, and Shenzhen Municipal Civil Affairs Bureau formally approved the establishment of the association in 2005. After 12 years of development, Blue Ocean became the most influential marine conservation association in China today.

About US BOCA (Shenzhen Blue Ocean Conservation Association) is the first non-profit NGO focus on marine environmental conservation in China.    History In 2002, the first batch of divers in Shenzhen who were employees of the SeaWorld Aquarium of Xiaomeisha, spontaneously started to organize marine conservation activities.

The idea of creating a special association to promote marine conservation was put forward, and Shenzhen Municipal Civil Affairs Bureau formally approved the establishment of the association on July 7th, 2005. After 12 years development, BOCA has become a leading and most influential marine environment protection organization in China.   Featured Events   BLUE COASTAL BLUE COASTAL is to do the coastal cleanup such as the seabed cleaning, sea surface cleaning and crossing coastline cleaning, monitor and research of marine trash, and waste recycle redemption, etc. BOCA has hosted International Coastal Cleanup in Shenzhen for 13 consecutive years!   

BLUE HOMES To make our ocean more beautiful, we always organize activities such as putting small fish and shrimps into the sea during the off fishing season, general survey of coral, planting coral and mangrove. BLUE COURSE A serial of course system for children and community citizen has been set up to strengthen the awareness of marine protection. Relevant experts and NGOs worldwide will be invited to in our themed Salon to discuss how to help promote our marine environment better every year.
