Green Power Hike For A Green Future

Green Power Hike is a large-scale annual hiking event, which takes place on Hong Kong Trail every January or February, attracting over 3,000 participants each year.

To deliver a green hiking experience for our participants, we are committed to integrate environmental elements into the event. We also encourage participants to take part in green practices together, such as “Take Your Litter Home”, waste separation and recycling, and reducing the use of resources. By providing information on the ecology of Hong Kong Trail to our participants, we wish to inspire the public to learn and appreciate Hong Kong’s natural beauty.

The funds raised through the event will be used in Green Power’s works in environmental education, which has always been our top priority.

Routes Introduction

Distance posts are erected along Hong Kong Trail at every 500m, from numbers H001 to H100. These numbered posts can help to identify your location. There are two types of wooden signs: the large ones indicate road crossings, destinations of different directions, distances and estimated walking time. The small sign is carved "dual hikers" to show the directions.

The Organiser will put up special signs to indicate the correct directions.

Awards

Certificate

Certificates will be awarded to those who complete the hike within the official time limit.
Certificates will be sent via email on 9 March 2018. (Teams and Green Teams: to team leaders only; Cups: to the contact person of the corporations / organisations only)

Trophy/ Medals

The Champion, 1st and 2nd Runners-up in each category will be awarded trophies / medals and other prizes.
Award Presentation Ceremony will be held at the end points.
