Mevlana Turkish Restaurant is a familiar name in the Shenzhen food scene, having been serving food at the same location for over 13 years.    Having recently undergone a big renovation, Mevlana is once again open for business and is looking stronger than ever.

Located just off the bustling street of HuaQiangBei, this is an area with a lot of food options of all varieties.  So the fact Mevlana has survived here for so long is even more impressive.  Comprising of 2  floors, the seating here is quite large being able to hold 100+ guests, with the second floor being used for functions or large bookings.

The restaurant has several main chefs of different nationalities, Egyptian, Turkish, Indian and Chinese.  This allows specialist dishes from various regions to be produced to a high standard. The menu is huge, possibly too big, and it can be difficult to know what to choose.  With meat, vegetation, Indian, Chinese, Turkish and more. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly and able to offer suggestions should be you need, and this can be done in multiple languages including English.

As you would expect at any reputable Turkish establishment, the familiar dishes are available.  With Adanam kebab, donner kebab, pide, lahmacun, kofte and lentil soup. Plus many many more.  Lam features heavily on the menu, but there is also chicken, fish, beef, and a large vegetarian section. The meat is all halal.

The finish the meal there are a selection  of Turkish desserts such as perennial favourites baklava, rice pudding and —.  The Turkish tea and coffee are a good way to end the evening, although be warned the coffee is very strong

There is no alcohol served at this restaurant, however there is a large shisha choice should you wish to partake. All in all, if you are looking for an authentic Turkish experience, or you simply want to try something new. Then look no further than Mevlana
