Insider Tip: Where to Get Cheap Movie Tickets

For a lot of you here in Shenzhen, watching a movie in the theater is always going to cost $10-$20 because you don't have the Chinese online banking that supports groupon.

Never fear!

You can go to one/almost any of the small shops on the bridge of Coastal City, Nanshan to get some movie ticket coupons, which you can then change into movie tickets at the theatres.

I like going there, because:
1. A coupon costs 25-38RMB, which can be turned into a 2D movie ticket;
For a 3D movie ticket, though, you will have to buy two of these coupons, which will cost around 75-80RMB (still a lot cheaper than buying them at door)
2. These coupons are good for 3,4 theatres: Poly International Cinema, Coastal City Cinema, The Pacific Cineplex (Tiley Fame City) and sometimes OCT Bay (Harbour) China Film International Movie Club (IMAX)
3. You don't even have to look up the schedule since you can check it in those shops and decide if you want to see a movie or not
4. If you did miss the movie, these coupons would not expire in a few months so you could always get your tickets later
