“The more, the better”是英文中一句非常常用的句子，表示“越多越好”。
那么这是个什么句型？怎么来的？今天就带领大家分析一下这个问题。
事实上，这种句型是从条件句改写的，比如：
If I eat a lot, I gain a lot of weight.
如果我吃很多，我的体重也会增加很多。
这是一句条件句，如果条件符合（I eat a lot），就会得到结果（I gain a lot of weight），“结果”跟“条件”有一种“依附关係”。
“The+比较级, the+比较级” 的句型就可以用于有依附关系的比较，翻译为“越…越…”。
我们可以把例句改写一下：
（原句）If I eat a lot, I gain a lot of weight.
如果我吃很多，我的体重也会增加很多。
（改写）The more I eat, the more weight I gain.
再如：
（原句）If you study more, you learn more.
如果你多学习，你会学到更多。
改写：The more you study, the more you learn.
（原句）If you leave soon, you’ll get to the airport earlier.
你越早离开，就越早到达机场。
改写：The sooner you leave, the earlier you’ll get to the airport.
再回到开头，“The more, the better”实际上还是个省略句，原句有很多种可能，我们挑一种：
If I earn more money, I feel better.
钱挣得越多，我感觉越好。
改写：The more money I earn, the better I feel.
