Touring back a millennium: Hancheng
写作的闲暇之间有幸收到韩城旅游的广告，由于其距离之近，时间之短，便立刻决定去韩城散心三日。以下为韩城游玩印象。
An advertisement for Hancheng came up just as I finished doing my translation project. Without a second thought, I booked a ticket to Hancheng for a three-day trip since it was close by.
交通非常方便。火车或者汽车均可，从西安出发两三个小时内便可到达，票价仅为20-40 元。一路上可以顺便欣赏黄土高坡以及陕西村落的美景。
Transportation is nothing too complicated, a couple of hours on a bus or a train would get you there from Xi’an, at a cost of 20-40 RMB. You can enjoy the scenery on the road (The Loess Plateau, terrace farms, river and mountain passes)
老城内建筑多建于元明清代，及富有历史意义。近期建筑亦多为仿古风格。
Most of the construction in the old town were from the 1300-1700s, with the more recent ones still built in similar architectural styles.
城内有无数历史珍宝，文庙武庙，长城遗址，司马迁墓等均开放参观，供游客学习，观赏。城内众多不知名古迹也可探索参观。
Some historic monuments include the Confucian Temple, Guan Yu Temple, Ruins of the Great Wall, and the Tomb of Sima Qian, but countless other treasures of culture and history remain hidden in the towns and villages, that you need to explore in detail.
韩城的自然景观也不在少数。黄河湿地，龙门，各个山头都值得一去。
The town is no stranger to beautiful natural/semi-natural sites either. Yellow River, Dragon’s Gate, several hills to hike atop…
餐饮业也是韩城的一大特点。羊肉胡卜，红甜面，羊肉饸饹……数不尽的美食。
If you’re as much into food as I am, then you’ll find Hancheng’s cuisine offer you countless snacks and desserts…
作为环境保护的领军，韩城已关闭其大半矿场，转型发展旅游业。
As a leader in eco-protection, the city has shut down a majority of its mines, which used to be its dominant industry.
一座转型和发展中的古城，韩城适合任何游客出游。其自然景观和历史景点都具有无与伦比的意义。
As an up-and-coming city of tourism, its certainly worth a visit for anyone that’s interested in authentic Chinese culture and architecture, or for those that are into a quick trip into the bosom of mother nature.
