The name of the Soares band is derived from the hero of the Fernando Pessoa novel, "Bernard Soares," a man who is sentenced to insomnia, always standing silently in the window, and his thoughts back and forth in the outside world. 

Soares乐队的名字来源于费尔南多佩索阿小说《惶然录》里的主人公Bernard Soares, 一个被判失眠的独居男人，总是静默地站在窗前，思绪则来回穿梭于外界与自身。Soares的音乐亦是如此，仿佛一个人与自己或世界的隐秘对话，内心充满细微情绪，外表又沉静如迷。

Soares started playing in 2012 thanks to the “10 year old” friendship and music collaboration between Marco Giongrandi (guitar) and the strong cohesion between Giongrandi, Pietro Martinelli (double bass) and Riccardo Chiaberta (drums) who since many years form a strong rhythm section who worked in different situations: as soon as Giongrandi decided to start to work on his own musical project he decided to put these musicians together in order to give his musical view a platform.In April 2015 “Departures”, Soares’ first album, has been released on Honolulu Records:

Soares present their work full of different artistic connections: within it is possible to find, besides a strong musical background, references to multiple artistic fields.

Inspired by different situations and authors, such as Antonio Tabucchi in the opening track “Il Filo Dell’Orizzonte”, every track represents a little tale which, through rarefied and twilight dyes, aims to involve the audience in a walk from the main theme of the inquietude until a hopeful and bright ending.

All the compositions, mostly written by Marco Giongrandi, are valued by a rhythm section whom, creating spacious and wide landscapes, fit entirely with Nicolò Ricci’s energetic flow: the final result is the unique strong sound of Soares.

2015 年 Soares 发布首张专辑 Departures。Departures 与欧洲音乐有着清晰的脉络联结，强烈鲜明的旋律体现了独特的地中海文化特质。在这张专辑中，Marco Giongrandi 像一个航海多年的水手那样身手矫捷地自由移动，时刻保持平衡，温和而无侵犯性。唱片中每一首作品都通过在结尾呈现一个纯净的黄昏美景，让听众从躁动的旋律过渡到富有希望和光明的感觉，营造出大海般宽广的场景。

优美，节制，探求实质。这些词语的叠加便是 Soares 的音乐内核。音乐旋律中饱含诗意的表达凸显了 Marco "not-only-jazz" 的创作路径，加之不同乐器之间天衣无缝的配合与出神入化的默契互动，使Soares注定将成为其流派中最棒的乐队之一。初夏，Soares带着新专辑来到中国，就让他们用音乐载你去地中海感受夏日慵懒的黄昏与带着咸味的海风吧。

Marco是Soares的核心，这张专辑里大多数的曲目为他的原创，除了 The Falling Snow (R. Chiaberta), Song for J (P. Martinelli) 和一首由 Marco 重新演绎的 The Smiths 乐队的 Please, please, please, Let Me Get What I Want。Marco 催化并细致地分配每一种乐器的声音，小心控制着节奏和动态平衡，创造出了一种独特的音乐风格。以往爵士乐中作为主导的摇摆乐节奏不再是一种必须，旋律与和声取而代之，凸显了音乐的抒情性：吉他和次中音萨克斯的紧密对话为每一首乐曲创造出一种独特的质地，不断推进旋律的极限。

MARCO GIONGRANDI – GuitarMarco Giongrandi 师从 Roberto Cecchetto。2011年, Giongrandi开始与歌手Marta Del Grandi 合作，组建了乐队 Marta DG Quartet, 担任吉他手和编曲。乐队在意大利进行了巡演，并在爵士乐杂志《Musica Jazz》发布了 Giongrandi 的作品 Tremolio。

Since 2006 until 2010 Marco Giongrandi attends the four years degree in Accademia Internazionale Della Musica - Civici Corsi di Jazz di Milano, with the teacher Roberto Cecchetto. In 2011 he starts to collaborate with the singer Marta Del Grandi as guitarist, composer and arranger for the band Marta DG quartet. After this contest a tour around the North of Italy follows, and a release of the Giongrandi’s composition Tremolio the jazz magazine Musica Jazz.

RICCARDO CHIABERTA - Drums鼓手和作曲家。9岁开始接触音乐，学习钢琴。1999 年开始跟随 Davide Merlino学习鼓和打击乐。大学本科在科莫 G. Verdi 音乐学院师从 Aberto Mandarini 和 Paolo Pasqualin, 并成为最高荣誉毕业生。随后在米兰 G. Verdi 音乐学院跟随 Riccardo Luppi 和 Stefano Bagnoli 学习，再次以最高荣誉完成硕士课程。2007年到2013年跟随Ramberto Ciammarughi学习钢琴。2010年到2011年跟随Fabrizio Sferra学习爵士鼓。

他在多个意大利爵士乐比赛中成绩优异：2012年 Jazz by the Pool比赛一等奖; Contest Fara Music 2010一等奖; Best Musician奖学金 ; Concorso Percfest 2010一等奖; 2013年Conad翁布里亚爵士音乐比赛二等奖; 2014年Conad翁布里亚爵士音乐比赛二等奖; 2013托西亚Jimmy Woode爵士乐比赛二等奖。

作为唱片厂牌Honolulu records的创始人之一，2015年他与Nirguna乐队合作在Honolulu records发行了自己的第一张唱片“Lux”。Riccardo Chiaberta is an Italian drummer and composer who has recently moved to London. He achieved a Master Degree in Jazz with highest honours at the Conservatory G. Verdi in Milan. He studied piano privately with Ramberto Ciammarughi and drums with Fabrizio Sferra. He is part of Paolino Dalla Porta Future Changes Quartet, Bruno Heinen & Italian Job, Giovanni Agosti Trio, Dugong and many others bands. He released "Lux", his first album as a leader, with the band Nirguna in October 2015 for Honolulu records, a label that Riccardo founded with others nine musicians from Milan. Riccardo played in many jazz festival, such as London Jazz Festival, Umbria Jazz, Tones on the Stones and MITO Milano. 

He achieved the highest ranks in many Italian jazz contests. He won the first prizes at Chicco Bettinardi Contest 2015, Jazz by the Pool Competition 2012, Contest Fara Music 2010 winning a scholarship as best musician of the year, and at Concorso Percfest 2010. He played with Ivo Neame, Gregory Burk, Bruno Heinen, David Friedman, Andrea Dulbecco, Paolino Dalla Porta, Bebo Ferra, Pietro Tonolo, Emanuele Cisi, Achille Succi, Tino Tracanna, Guido Bombardieri, Gaetano Partipilo, Giovanni Falzone, Gianluca Di Ienno, Simona Severini, Andrea Di Biase and many others. 

GIACOMO TAGLIAVIA - Double Bass贝斯手和作曲家，作为贝斯手参与录制众多唱片包括：Suoni Mobili (Giovanni Falzone); Django’s Roots (Daniele Gregolin); Penguin Village (Gabriele Boggio Ferraris 4et); Waiting for the One (SugarPie & the Candymen); Stereoscape (Mario Ermoli Trio); Spaghetti Gipsy (Daniele Gregolin Clan Zingaro); Shinnen (Wolf Gang 4et). 2014年成为 The Italian Jazz Dictionary 荣誉会员，2013年被认定为 Piacenza 音乐学院音乐家代表。他演出经验丰富，曾在众多著名爵士俱乐部和剧院演奏，如 Cantina Bentivoglio Jazz Club; ZTL Theatre; Hot Club; Milestone Jazz Club; Padova Jazz Club; Biella Jazz Club，亦曾受邀参加众多爵士音乐节包括 Eddie Lang Music Festival, Lodi Jazz Festival, HIFA Festival, Suoni Mobili Music Festival, Jazzit Festival, St. Gallen Jazz Festival, Lugano Jazz Festival, Festival International in Cantabria 等。
