Shining Soundscape (SS) is a new form of performance that combines both live artwork, music, and performance to create a situation where energy and ideas can pass back and forth between the audience and the performers, in a multisensory meeting of minds. Curated by Guiguisuisui 鬼鬼祟祟, Shining Soundscape will come to DDC on October 31 to present a special Halloween edition under the moniker of Screaming Hellscape, which will see the space transformed for a collaboration between three bands and three artists, combining bone shaking doom with visual and kinetic performances. The aim is to take Halloween to deeper, darker, perhaps more scary place, but certainly a more creative one.You are cordially invited to join the fun...

Nekroma is an experimental art rock quartet based in Beijing. While the group began as a collaboration between the bands Nakoma and the GUIGUISUISUI, Nekroma has taken on its style and identity distinct from the two bands that forged it. Drawing on a range of influences from all over the globe Nekroma utilizes vocals, skateboard guitar, drums, bass, electronic samples, and synths to create a backdrop for carnival of intriguing characters including King Necro, Pumpkin Queen, Diavolo Rosso, and The Hanged Man. On record they present twisted fairy tales and Lovecraftian fantasies, while live they mix theatricality akin to a silent horror film with digital painting created in real time and projected over the band, creating a feedback loop between sight and sound. Nekroma beckons.
Nickolai is an artist based in China originally from Washington DC. His work consists of a series of vector illustrations and sketches. He has done a number of art shows here in Beijing and has sold many of his pieces. His work usually makes a political statement or a statement about race or war.
Nickolai 是一位来自华盛顿居住在北京的艺术家。他的作品由一系列的矢量图和素描组成。他在北京做了很多艺术展览，卖出了很多作品。他的作品通常表达关于政治、种族、战争的声音。
ATELIER II + Liu Zheng

Performance description Edmund Burke (Irish author and philosopher) separated the Beautiful and the Sublime into their own respective rational categories in his 1757 treatise on aesthetics called ''A Philosophical Inquiry into the Origin of Our Ideas of the Sublime and Beautiful''. In short, the Beautiful, according to Burke, is what is well-formed and aesthetically pleasing, whereas the Sublime is a representation of what has the power to overwhelm and destroy us. The Sublime is the formal cause of the passion of fear (especially the fear of death). The central intention of our live performance is the attempt to create a condition of the Sublime trough sound. The performance will consist in vast sonic landscapes achieved with the use of long drone sounds and heavily processed field recordings. The compositions will be instinctively performed on place and this event will be unique. We invite the audience members to explore abstract places and emotions according to each one's imagination potential.

Electric Lady 也称电妞 2012年10月成立名字来自Jimi Hendrix的专辑Electric Ladyland。当你听到第一个音符，对不起，你就上了贼船了。你会发现这里是1970年而不是现在。迷幻，老摇滚，Stoner，Doom，这些元素是你在生活的任何角落都找不到的，除非在我们的音乐里。我们使用怀旧和复古的音符就像文艺复兴一般。
If you have listened to Jimi Hendrix's ELECTRIC LADYLAND, you must know the meaning of electric lady, and that's where their name came from. Their music is a mix of psychedelic, stoner, doom, rock'n'roll, with bite of retro flavor added to amazing vocals. This one you don't want to miss.
《Hole in the Wall》是一本由Jinna 和 Shui这两位插画师联合创办的插画小合集。我们的创作取材于北京地区，并以独立出版物、壁饰、插画作品等形式进行展览。由于深刻地体会到这个城市强大的生命力，我们想记录下生活在如此背景下的人儿。可以是正值芳华的年轻人，可以是事业得意的北漂族，也可以是失意迷茫的学生党等等。因此，我们第一本独立小杂志就这样诞生了。自那以后，我们便参加了很多和创意相关的活动和集会。这期间，我们在第一本的基础上又出版了两本独立小杂志。而这次，我们重点关注的是酒吧、胡同，以及活跃在里面的人们。
Hole in the Wall is a collective focused on recording urban youth culture. We create illustrations inspired by Beijing’s underground scene, displaying them as zines, wall murals and prints. Overwhelmed by the vibrant energy of the city, we wanted to document the young, the excited and the lost. Hence the first issue of our zine was born. Since then we have taken part in various creative events and have published two more issues focusing on bars, hutongs and their inhabitants.
