China calls on Japan to create good tone for meeting


China hopes Japan takes seriously the consensus reached a day earlier to create a favorable atmosphere for the meeting between the two countries' leaders.


The countries reached consensus on handling historical and territorial issues, agreed to gradually resume political, diplomatic and security dialogues through various channels and set up a crisis-management mechanism for the East China Sea after the foreign minister held talks with Shotaro Yachi, Japan’s national security adviser.


APEC ministers agree on anti-corruption network


The Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Ministerial Meeting has decided to adopt an anti-corruption proclamation, and set up a law enforcement network to allow for cross-border cooperation in the anti-graft field.


Countries will step up collaboration in recovering assets that are illegally moved in a bid to further clamp down on graft cases in the region.


APEC ministers adopt FTAAP Beijing Roadmap


When established, the FTAAP would be one of the largest FTA in the world, covering about half of global economy and trade.


A comprehensive and strategic study on FTAAP, an idea first proposed in 2004, would also be launched to create favorable conditions and lay solid foundations for establishing the FTA.


Kerry says US, Russia to exchange info on Ukraine border


US Secretary of State John Kerry said on Saturday that the United States and Russia had agreed to exchange information about the situation on the Russia-Ukraine border.


Kerry met Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov earlier in the day in Beijing, ahead of the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) meeting.
