To answer that question, we need to know first that though animals move a lot, their vision works best when the eye is not moving. 

回答这一问题之前，首先要知道对于能够自由运动的动物来说，只有让自己的视野稳定，才能看清东西。

Humans and many other animals handle this with their eyes, by moving the eyes in the opposite direction whenever the head moves.

人和很多动物一样，可以通过转动眼球来实现平衡，即眼球与脑袋做相反的运动来抵消这一位移。

However, birds can’t move their eyes very much. So instead, to keep the eyes still while the body moves, birds keep their entire head still.

然而鸡眼构造与人类不同，它们不能灵活转动眼珠，因此只能通过颈部运动来保持头的姿态稳定了。
