Justin Bieber canceled the 14 remaining concerts of his Purpose world tour on Monday, saying he needed some rest after being on the road for two years. The announcement came days after the singer was banned from performing in China because of his "bad behaviors".

The scheduled tour dates were set to take place in North America and Asia over the next three months. The tickets for all of his canceled dates will be refunded at point of purchase.

As for the reason of the abrupt quit, Justin said "everything's fine" and that he is looking forward to "just resting and getting some relaxation", according to TMZ.

"I'm sorry for anyone who feels, like, disappointed or betrayed, it's not in my heart," Bieber added.

Bieber's manager Scooter Braun also apologized on behalf of the singer. "A man's soul and well being I truly care about came first and we must all respect and honor that," Braun wrote on Instagram. "Justin will be back and I know he looks forward to performing for you and with you all again. One chapter ends and another begins."

The 23-year-old singer has been on tour for the last 18 months and has played more than 150 shows on six continents. The tour has made $93.2 million in 2017.

China last week announced that Bieber was unwelcome to perform in the country due to his misbehavior.

"Justin Bieber is a talented yet controversial young foreign singer. As far as we know, as a celebrity, he frequently misbehaves in his social life and concert performances, which aggrieved the public," said the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture on its official website.

To regulate the domestic performance market and purify the environment, performers who frequently misbehave in public are deemed inappropriate to be allowed into China, said the bureau.

Bieber has had several run-ins with the law over alleged drunk driving and drag racing.

This isn't the first time the singer has stepped back from his fans. Back in 2013, Bieber claimed he was "officially retiring".

The pull out of the world tour caused some concern and frustration among the fans.
