When British Prime Minister Theresa May stepped out of her home at 10 Downing Street, she could no longer be assured about the security of her nation's top policy secrets, since Larry the Cat, the "Chief Mouser to the Cabinet Office", had a major surprise for her.

It was busy spreading "kitileaks" on its Twitter account.

This is not the only case when pets have rendered people speechless. Some pets showed remarkable bravery to protect their owners in critical moments. Others grasped unimaginable techniques which had previously been deemed exclusive to humans.

It was an impressive experience to read through the comments for last week's Chitchat topic since these cute pets brightened our days. Let's take a look at some of them and see if you are amazed as well.

Pets seem to understand humans

@Laura

My cat surprises me every night when it is time for dinner. Every time I say that dinner is ready, he would rush to sit down and look at me eating!

@英子

One day when I was crying alone, my little dog came to me. He licked the tears running down my face, as if he knew my feelings well. I was moved. From then on, I always told my secrets to him. He is always my best friend.

@Helsic

My cat is pretty smart! He knows when its owners are sick. Every time my husband gets a migraine, he licks his forehead and then knows which side of the head is aching. Last year I had a surgery and I spent a week at the hospital, when I returned home, my cat stayed by my side for three days!

Some pets are incredibly gallant

@芥子纳须弥

I once had a dog. One day, I had a fight with my brother. My dog helped me avenge by tearing everything it could find in my brother's bedroom.

Pets are too cute to be angry with

@狸狸胡

My cat will look at me with its pure, big eyes after making mistakes. I can not punish her anymore once I see its eyes.

@Elena

My dog ruined all my flowers on the balcony, I thought only one pot of dog meat soup could ease my anger (just kidding, I don't eat dogs). But my love toward it always overwhelms my indignation.

@一位农妇

My cat never bit my family. However, one day when my mom was taking it for a bath, it bit her arm gently. Then it dropped its head, just like saying sorry for the mistake. It died five years ago, and I miss it.

Cats and dogs: natural enemies?

@kelly

The cat likes to play with a dog, which is somewhat funny. When losing ground, the cat will sit beside my door and keep meowing until I open the door to let it in. Only until then will it feel safe.

Some have incredible techniques

@Vivian

My cat loves watching flowing water and often peeps at you when you are taking a shower.

@曼姿纤颖

I once heard my tortoise sneezing, which really surprised me.

@Diana 黛情

My cats called my mom "mama" in a fairly clear manner. One night when she was sleeping soundly, I entered the room. Excitedly, she said, "Mama!" It soon changed its expression after finding out it was me.

P.S. Here is a piece of uplifting news: according to a study conducted by a group of US scientists, watching cat-related videos can also boost your health, even if you are doing it for procrastination.

The next time your boss walks up on you watching cat videos, blame it on science.
