In many ways, today's younger generation live in the "the best of times".

They are richer than any previous generation. They are better-educated than their elders. They enjoy greater freedom in more countries than their predecessors would have thought possible. And as technology advanced, they might live well past age 100.

Yet out of the seemingly lucky and carefree life emerges a new problem — a generation gap.

One place where the generation gap is evident is in the use of memes. You may be familiar with such occasions, when a meme you send to your parents fails to achieve the intended effect, but rather, leaves them fairly confused.

But there are also other forms of generation gaps which are rather stark. Children, with their distinctive living experiences, might find themselves frequently differing in opinions with their parents.

Sometimes the differences in opinions appear relatively minor, but if more serious ones arise, the result might be hours of spirited, verbal exchanges, and even worse, an incurable schism between family members.

Is there a generation gap between you and your parents? How do you feel about it, and what's your solution?
