Keeping your New Year's resolutions for 2018 | Chitchat
Hello, 2018!
Happy New Year!
Looking back at the past year, what were your highlights? Maybe you found true love. Maybe you secured a place at a top school or company. Maybe you became a parent.
Whatever it was that you achieved, don't you find yourself wanting more?
That's the reason we keep making New Year's resolutions — even though, a lot of the time, we cannot fulfill them!
As we wish you all a very happy new year, we also wish you luck with your New Year's resolutions for 2018. Here are five tips to help you keep them. Hope they help!
♥ Focus on one accomplishment at a time to increase your chances of success.
♥ Don't make your resolutions too unrealistic or unattainable.
♥ Create a step-by-step plan, outlining how you're going to achieve your goals.
♥ Set daily reminders for yourself on your phone to encourage you.
♥ Focus on small changes in behavior and habit, not the end goal itself.
In last week's Chitchat, we asked you to tell us about your New Year's resolutions. Let's take a look at some of the highlights:

Speaking of my New Year's resolutions, l want to find a more challenging job which l am willing to do. My current job is simple and repetitious. So I feel depressed everyday when l enter my office. l hung out my resume online, waiting for a good opportunity but my current company captured that.
Consequently, the biggest leader of our department intimidated me that if l jumped to a new company, he would order the HR to speak ill of me to the new company. I'm not afraid of what he said. My future is in my own hands. l believe l will succeed by following my heart.
Come on!

"Read 12 books a year" I have made such a resolution since 2015, actually, I read 8 books in 2015, 7 in 2016, and almost have read 11 in 2017 till now. Despite of the fact that I only read 2 books before October.
This year, when I realized it, I took action and read 8 books in 2 months. It's not about time. It depends on your mind, because when you concentrate on a book, it's easy to finish reading.

I set a resolution on Jan 1, 2017 when I was 55kg that I need to lose weight below 50kg. Although I am 51kg on Dec 25, 2017, I am satisfied with achieving four-fifths of my goal.
