考生伪造清华录取通知书，被拆穿后离家出走......丨Boy fakes Tsinghua's admission offer

A high school graduate in Guangdong province faked the offer of Tsinghua University and received congratulations from the whole village before his father found out the truth. The news sparked heated discussions online. Latest report said the graduate has run away from home. 

According to the Beijing News, the graduate, surnamed Cao, showed his scores to his father when the results of college entrance examination were announced. "The (fake) news that he ranked 52 in the province with a total score of 702 soon spread around the village," said a villager.

The fake offer letter of Tsinghua Cao made for himself was sealed with a red stamp, manifesting that he was "admitted" for artificial intelligence technology major. However, several mistakes, such as wrong Chinese characters, were obvious on the fake letter.

Cao's parents as well as villagers felt proud for Cao being "admitted" to Tsinghua University, therefore they put on a rich feast and hung banners to celebrate the 

"good news". 

Intending to help Cao pay his school fees, local charity foundation went to Cao's home to enquire further. Later staff members at the foundation discovered that Cao had actually scored 235 when they tried to confirm the result.

"We were shocked when we heard that he was admitted by Tsinghua University. We didn't believe it because he was just average when we were in high school," said one of Cao's high school mates.

Latest investigation suggested that Cao faked the offer in order to cheat his father out of money. On Aug 19, Cao's father told the Beijing News that his son had run away from home. He and his wife were absolutely disappointed and sad about their son. But the rumor online claiming that he "fainted and was sent to hospital" was not true.
