9月4日，特朗普在白宫记者会谈到新冠肺炎的死亡病例，竟宣称“中国的死亡人数比美国多得多”。据美国约翰斯·霍普金斯大学统计数据显示，美国新冠肺炎确诊已超620万例，累计死亡超18万人，是全球累计确诊病例和死亡病例最多的国家。
During a White House news conference on Friday, US President Donald Trump claimed that China has suffered far more deaths from the novel coronavirus than the United States.
"China had far more deaths than we did, in my opinion. It's just my opinion, but they don't report their deaths, or they don't report them accurately ... there are other countries where the death toll is far higher than the United States," Trump stated.
His statement came after a reporter asked about a forecast model from the Institute for Health Measurement and Evaluation at the University of Washington, which estimates that the number of deaths in the US due to coronavirus will be over 410,000 until the New Year of 2021.
